MOTs for electric and hybrid cars

Yes, electric and hybrid cars need an MOT on the same schedule as any other car.
Electric cars
There's no emissions test, but everything else applies: brakes, tyres, lights, steering, suspension and the security of the battery and high-voltage wiring. EVs are heavy, so tyres and suspension can wear faster.
Hybrids
Hybrids have a petrol or diesel engine, so the emissions test still applies. Choose a garage that lists hybrid or EV experience.
