Which vehicles don't need an MOT?

Most cars need an MOT, but a few don't.
New cars
Cars under three years old don't need an MOT yet. Our vehicle check shows when the first one is due.
Historic vehicles
Vehicles built or first registered more than 40 years ago may be exempt if they haven't been substantially changed. You still have to keep them roadworthy, and many owners choose a voluntary MOT for peace of mind.
